How do others say Bram works?

"In the interview with the former Norwegian prime minister, Bram Peeters not only portrays a remarkable human being, but also the way this man deals with a far-reaching event in his life. With the clear, honest and transparent style of writing, it almost becomes tangible how Bondevik struggled with his depression. These kind of personal interviews can make a valuable contribution to establish more understanding and tolerance with the reader."

The Dutch jury selected from 14 articles a winner that informed Dutch newspaper readers in an original and interesting way. The author put a lot of effort in his research, traveled through Europe for his stories to ask Europeans about their opinion, and wrote his articles in an open style. Therefore the winner is Bram Peeters with his article called ‘The flower bridge is closed’ which has been published in the daily free newspaper ‘De Pers’. The jury awards Peeters for one of his articles in a series of five and would like to add that the series as a whole is an example how the European Union can be brought under the attention of a wide public."

"His presence at our editorial office during the Dutch-Belgian Journalist Exchange Programme was an enrichment for our magazine. Even few native reporters manage to succeed but Bram Peeters found his way in the Belgian labyrinth in no time. Whether it involved urban and political issues in Brussels or linguistic problems in Wallonia, Bram quickly familiarised himself with the material. His writing isn’t bad either."
Rik Van Cauwelaert, editor-in-chief Knack Magazine (be)

"Bram has worked for over two years as a staff reporter at Psy. With quickness and enthusiasm he made himself familiar with the world of psychiatry and addiction. He is interested and curious, certainly useful qualities for a journalist.
Bram was not afraid to immediately investigate complicated topics like forensic psychiatry or drug abuse by psychiatric patients. His talent as a researcher definitely came in use there. He is quick to grasp a situation, is able to work independently and has a nose for news. In other words: you can send out Bram Peeters on an assignment and he will come back with a good story.”
Michaja Langelaan, editor-in-chief Psy

"Bram Peeters has worked for several as staff journalist at the multi media desk of the Dutch news agency ANP. I and other colleagues have gotten to know him as a motivated and skilled colleague. Bram is optimistic and cheerful person with a great journalistic interest and knowledge. His strength at ANP lied at foreign news. At the multi media desk Bram was responsible for editing newswire stories for internet and mobile applications. He also took care of selecting and publishing photographs and when necessary wrote news stories himself.
I would have liked to hire Bram as a journalist at my new employer but unfortunately he decided to choose another path where he could focus on writing feature stories. In the end probably a better choice matching his talents.”
Esther Habers, executive editor RTV West. Executive editor of ANP multi media desk between 1999-2005.

“I first heard Bram Peeters’s name in 2001 when Cronica, the week in review section of El Mundo, was looking for a Dutch journalist. From then on, he must have written around 15 or 20 articles for El Mundo, from royalty to euthanasia and from the Duke of Alva to the TomTom creators. I have never met him but I’d say he is young, since his writing is fresh. He always hands in articles on time, he is honest, flexible and listens to what his editors suggest. And, most important for a freelance journalist: he never says ‘yes’ when he doesn’t think there is a story, even though saying ‘no’ means no article and not getting paid. Unfortunately, not every freelancer does the same.”
Víctor Rodríguez Arroyo, staff writer El Mundo

"Funny, ambitious, determined, curious, prepared to take risks and always enthusiastic. I think this summarizes the journalist Bram Peeters I’ve gotten to know.”

"Bram was originally one of my students at the School of Journalism in Utrecht but later became my partner in journalism. That actually says it all. Together we made journalistic journeys to the United States and Latin America. During these travels I experienced Bram as someone full of bright ideas about who and what to portray; as a hard worker and a good colleague with a critical attitude at the time of writing articles as well as a self-conscious professional at the time we were about to publish the stories.”
Remko van Broekhoven, journalist and professor at the School of Journalism in Utrecht.
