Bram graduated from the MA International Relations in Historical Perspective at the Utrecht University cum laude. His thesis on Muslim foreign fighters can be found here and has also been included in the Foreign Fighters of Terrorism Bibliography of the Terrorism Research Initiative.
2013
Guest lecturer in courses on internial reporting and freelance journalism. Student at the Utrecht University in the master programme International Relations in Historical Perspective. Papers written for this study were published in Dutch media.
2012
Guest lecturer at Utrecht School of Journalism and the international Europe in the World programme. Combined with freelance journalism.
Bram travelled to Israel to write different stories for Dutch national newspapers and magazines. He also started as a guest lecturer at the

Assignments for different Dutch magazines and newspapers. Bram also attended a masterclass for freelance journalists organised by the Academy of the Dutch journalist union NVJ.
2009
In November 2009 Bram travelled from the West to the East of Turkey to investigate the attitudes towards EU accession, ten years after the country was accepted as a candidate member to the EU.
Earlier in the years he worked as a freelance journalist for titles such as: the Belgian news magazine Knack, the Spanish daily El Mundo, De Journalist, Psy, Psy.nl, Provincies, Tijdschrift Kindermishandeling, Schrijf-Schrijf, Kris Kras design. In July Bram was chosen as the Dutch winner of the European Young Journalist Award. In October, the European Commission awarded him with the For Diversity Against Discrimination Journalist Award.
2008
October-November: Working in Brussels at Knack magazine as part of a Dutch-Flemish exchange programme for journalists.

Project on five Eastern European border zones: Norway-Russia, Lithuania-Kaliningrad, Belarus-Poland, Ukraine-Slovakia and Moldova-Romania. A series of reportages was published in the Dutch newspaper De Pers and the Belgian daily De Tijd.
